The opening creates 100 new jobs in the community and offers a great new casual dining alternative to this busy tourist destination.

The new restaurant is owned and operated by husband and wife franchisee team, Alex and Sandy Smardenka, part-time residents of Collingwood for the past 18 years. Their son Phil will serve as manager of the Collingwood location. Alex brings a wealth of restaurant experience to Boston Pizza Collingwood with more than 30 years in the business.

"We love Collingwood and we're so excited to offer a new casual dining choice to local residents," says Alex Smardenka. "Boston Pizza strives to provide great food and exceptional service to our guests each and every time they visit."

Boston Pizza offers two experiences under one roof - a family-friendly dining room and an entertaining sports bar. Boston Pizza Collingwood is decorated with a local flare featuring Collingwood Blues jerseys and photos from the town throughout the years.

In keeping with their commitment to the community, the staff of Boston Pizza Collingwood will donate their tips generated through six ‘dress rehearsals' to local Collingwood charity My Friend's House with a cheque presentation made at the grand opening party on Saturday, November 25th.  The restaurant will be an active member of the community year-round and will support local schools, minor sports leagues and charities.
