Allyson Smith
A consistent fan favorite at home in Canada or wherever the
punch line finds her, Allyson Smith brings her signature
blend of brash social commentary and clever life insights to
one of the most alluring shows around.
No stranger to stage, screen or studio, Allyson’s biting wit
and cunning charisma have been featured on Much Music’s
‘Video on Trial’, CTV ‘Comedy Now’, W Network, Star TV,’ as
well on CBC Radio’s ‘Madly Off In All Directions’ and ‘The
Debaters.’ She was a semi-finalist at the 2007 Seattle
Comedy Contest, earning an invitation to the prestigious
Just for Laughs Comedy Festival, and she has also played the
Edmonton International Fringe Theatre Festival. Continually
honing her craft on audiences from coast to coast, this
‘embarrassingly varied’ comedian and consummate professional
is sure to leave you in stitches (the good kind).
Massimo
Originally
from Montreal, Massimo grew up in the very Italian
neighbourhood of St-Michel. Massimo spent most of his life
being (as most teachers put it) a wise ass who never knew
where to draw the line.
But, in January of 2000 Massimo found a place where acting
the fool was accepted and he has been on the stage
performing ever since. Now, if you ask Massimo about comedy,
he will say: "I enjoy everything, the good, the bad, the
drunk and the ugly. There is something about making a crowd
laugh that makes me feel invincible." It's his never
surrender attitude that got him a spot at the 2004 Montreal
Just For Laughs Festival where he brought down the house.
Massimo is all about giving the audience what they want but
at the same time staying true to himself and talking about
the things that he wants to express as a comedian. He is a
perfect blend of confidence and insecurity, the lover and
the hater, the man and the boy.
Cedric
Newman
Born in Jamaica and raised in Montreal, this comic brings
both distinct cultures on stage with him. His charm and
likeability grabs hold of the audience, and his clever sharp
wit has you from the word go. He has a keen sense and brings
a whole new style to observational comedy.
Cedric's energy on stage is fresh and entertaining. Although
relatively new at Stand-Up, he has garnished himself some of
the highest praise from some of the most well seasoned
comics in Canada. He breaks down all cultural barriers and
brings you into his world as he sees it. Definitely the most
sought after new young comics in Canada.
