In 1994, Ken
and Geri Rounds along with our daughter, Carla purchased
Valley Poultry Farm. Over the years we have made many
changes to the original farm. Our desire when we
purchased the farm was to sell our products that we
produce on the farm directly to the consumer, so we
opened Valley Farm Market in 1996. We wanted to
provide our customers with fruit and vegetables fresh
from the farm, so in 1997 we purchased another farm we
now call Valley Berry Farm, where we grow
asparagus, rhubarb, peas, beans, strawberries, many
varieties raspberries and currants, tomatoes, sweet corn
and pumpkins.
Over the years we were getting numerous requests from
schools to visit our poultry barn and learn about egg
production. In 1998 we decided to formalize our school
tour program so we built Rounds Ranch. In the spring we
offer three school tour programs where the children: 1)
Visit and learn about a variety of different animals in
our nursery barn. 2) Learn what goes on behind the
scenes of egg production from the hen to the store. 3)
Take an active part in a skit of the lifecycle of the
strawberry plant.
In the fall
we offer a ‘Harvest Celebration’ school tour focusing on
the fall season for all ages from nursery school to
Grade 12.
In 2002, we
opened Rounds Ranch Farm Adventures offering an array of
fun, adventurous activities for families of all ages.
One of the
adventures included a large cornfield maze with clues to
solve, questions to answer and stamps to find. Every
year the maze takes on a new theme and this year's theme
is The Medieval Times. Other adventures include a huge
straw bale maze, pedal cart race track, sling shot
target practive, barnyard boxcars, wagon rides, straw
jump, pyramid and more. New for this year we are very
excited to add horse trail rides through the confield
maze and pony rides through a log maze. We are also
adding a mist maze for those hot days in the summer.

Adventures in Fun, Adventures in Learning,
Adventures in Leadership
Along with being open to the genreral public, we
offer birthday parties, day camps, overnight
camping, school & group tours, corporate functions
and church events/picnics. This year we are pleased
to offer a special 'Adventures in Leadership'
program focusing on youth discovering their purpose
in life. |
